BVI Heads to EURETINA 2026 to Advance Collaboration with the Global Retina Community

  • BVI heads to EURETINA 2026 with a focused program highlighting the European launch of Virtuoso for vitreoretinal surgery.
  • Hands-on wet labs, live demonstrations and a dedicated launch event will introduce retina specialists to BVI’s next-generation surgical platform.

WALTHAM, Mass., September 17, 2026 — As retina specialists from around the world prepare to gather in Vienna for the 26th EURETINA Congress, BVI, a leading global ophthalmic device company, is set to showcase its continued commitment to advancing vitreoretinal surgery through innovative technology, surgeon collaboration and hands-on clinical experience.

Throughout the congress, BVI will welcome attendees to experience its latest retinal technologies through live product demonstrations and integrated wet labs, creating opportunities to evaluate new surgical capabilities, and exchange clinical perspectives.

A centerpiece of BVI’s participation will be Virtuoso, the company’s next-generation surgical platform designed to support the evolving needs of posterior segment procedures. Developed with direct surgeon input, Virtuoso combines advanced fluidics, responsive performance and an intuitive workflow to help surgeons operate with greater confidence, precision and efficiency.

The European launch will be celebrated during a dedicated event bringing together surgeons, and industry partners to explore the future of vitreoretinal surgery and the role emerging technologies is playing in advancing patient care.

“EURETINA brings together one of the most specialized and influential communities in ophthalmology,” said Andy Chang, Chief Commercial Officer of BVI. “It provides an outstanding opportunity to engage directly with retina surgeons, demonstrate new technology in a hands-on environment and continue building the partnerships that help drive meaningful innovation.”

In addition to the Virtuoso launch, BVI’s EURETINA program will include:

  • Live product demonstrations via wet lab activations
  • One-on-one clinical discussions with specialists
  • Industry partner forums focused on the future of retinal surgery

These activities reflect BVI’s commitment to partnering with surgeons through technology, education and clinical collaboration while supporting the continued advancement of vitreoretinal surgery.

“Developing meaningful surgical innovation begins with listening to surgeons,” said Mikhail Boukhny, PhD, Chief Technology Officer of BVI. “EURETINA provides an ideal setting to engage with the retina community, exchange ideas and demonstrate how technologies like Virtuoso are designed to address the practical needs of today’s vitreoretinal procedures.”

Attendees are invited to join BVI throughout EURETINA 2026 to experience Virtuoso firsthand, participate in wet lab activities and connect with members of the global retina space.
