Virtuoso® Phaco

We love control freaks

Novel fluidics concept allowing to keep same target IOP throughout all procedure steps paired with load sensing phaco aimed at reducing energy delivery, all packed in an optimized footprint. 1,2,4,5,6,3 BVI®'s Virtuoso® platform and full end-to-end portfolio deliver precision, accuracy, and stability in cataract surgery, giving surgeons true control and exceptional outcomes without compromise.

Fluidics equalizer

Equality™ Fluidics Control actively maintains target IOP by immediately adjusting actual infusion flow according to varying aspiration demand, the Irrigation Compensation further supports the surgeon to offset any incision-related condition, preventing any anterior chamber instability from wound leakage or wound compression.1,3

The inflow & outflow are mirrored in one integrated module; the fluidics performance is then tailored on each qualified instrument and sizing to optimize responsiveness.

Customized aspiration

Equality™ Fluidics Control offers different aspiration modalities (flow control with vacuum limit; vacuum control with uncapped flow; vacuum control with flow limit) for a customized surgical procedure based on preferred response, personal technique, and case scenario (e.g., epi-nucleus, cortical removal, OVD removal).1,3/sup>

Flow control with vacuum limit for surgeons looking for full vacuum build only upon occlusion. Vacuum control with uncapped flow for surgeons preferring direct vacuum build.Vacuum control with flow limit as an innovative blended option offering enhanced control when the capsular bag is more exposed, like epi-nucleus, cortical removal and OVD removal.

Pressure equalizer from the start

While other systems can experience IOP fluctuations at the start of aspiration due to the pressure gradient between IOP in the eye and ambient pressure in the aspiration tubing, Equality™ Fluidics Control equalizes the pressure in the aspiration tubing with the desired IOP setpoint programmed on the GUI immediately upon activation of aspiration. 1,2,3
Fastest post-occlusion break surge recovery both in phaco and I/A, across various fluidics settings and I/A instruments2,3

This pressure equalization ensures stable Anterior Chamber from the start of aspiration, even more important for any maneuver close to the capsule and when dealing with different types of eyes.

Fluidics Control™

Consistently consistent from start to finish

Equality™ Fluidics Control actively maintains the same target IOP throughout the entire cataract procedure, from phaco steps to I/A steps, uniquely fusing the control of a flow pump with the efficiency of a pressure pump. 1,2,3

Intelligent lens sensing

Maintaining target energy through sensing and compensating for cataract resistance.

Lower energy

By ensuring consistency between programmed and delivered energy, Resolute™ allows a lower energy setpoint throughout all phaco steps, unlike other systems that require a higher energy setpoint, especially for harder cataracts — limiting fragment repulsion and reducing impact on ocular tissues. 4,5,6,3

The lower energy setpoint enhances surgical efficiency, limiting the harmful and unwanted fragment repulsion, can lower Effective Phaco Time and reduce impact on ocular tissues, for a faster recovery of vision.

Load-Sensing Energy Optimizer

We put our energy into energy

Resolute™ Load-Sensing Energy Optimizer intelligently senses cataract resistance and dynamically compensates to maintain the target energy level, engineered to help surgeons operate at a lower energy set point. 1,4,5,6,3
