DUAL™

Virtuoso DUAL machine

We love control freaks

BVI’s Virtuoso® platform and end-to-end portfolio deliver precision, accuracy and stability in Cataract and Vitreoretinal surgery, giving you control and freedom to perform your way. An innovative fluidics concept engineered to help maintain target IOP across procedure steps and fluid exchanges, paired with a next-generation dual-blade vitrectomy system engineered for consistent cutting and aspiration performance under load - all within an optimized footprint. 1,2,11,12,3

Velvet™ offers dual pneumatic drive for a precise and consistent cutting quality across any CPM, high-speed dual blade up to 20,000 CPMs for an efficient vitreous aspiration. 1,12,3

Velvet™'s dual-blade design is engineered to deliver efficient, consistent aspiration flow across cutting speeds, helping minimize retinal traction during core vitrectomy. 7,8,9,12,3

Closer access to target tissue

Velvet™ is designed to support faster resolution of retinal tractions during the retinal shaving step.11,12,3

This higher proximity to target tissue enables a faster resolution of retinal tractions and further expands vitrectomy probe functionality to a tissue manipulator.

Enhanced shaft stiffness

Velvet™ enhanced shaft stiffness delivers uncompromised and enduring cutting performance, especially at the smallest incision sizes. 11,12,3

This ensures cutting quality and efficiency in all circumstances, which is paramount for small-Gauge vitreoretinal surgery.

Longer workable distance

Velvet™'s longer working length is designed to extend workable distance, addressing the growing clinical need in high myopic eyes.1,3

Ensuring a longer workable distance is key due to the worldwide growing prevalence of high myopes.

Vitrectomy Probe

When it comes to delivering cutting-edge precision, we're not flexible.

Engineered for surgical precision, Velvet™ is designed to elevate control and cutting performance through enhanced stiffness, maintaining cutting efficiency even under load. 11,12,3

Our Dual Pneumatic, Dual Blade, beveled probes deliver unmatched cutting performance through the smallest incisions, so you can focus on what you do best without worrying about the rest.

Equality™ Fluidics Control

Never be under pressure

Equality™ is designed to manage the pressure of maintaining intraocular pressure throughout all surgical steps and any fluid, uniquely fusing the control of a flow pump with the efficiency of a pressure pump. 1,2,3
  • Fluidics equalizer

Equality™ Fluidics Control actively maintains target IOP by immediately adjusting actual infusion flow according to varying aspiration demand; the Automatic Leakage Compensation further supports the surgeon by detecting IOP loss due to any intra-operative leakage. 1,2,3

  • Customized aspiration

Equality™ Fluidics Control offers different aspiration modalities aimed at creating a customized surgical procedure based on preferred response, personal techniques and case scenario (flow control with vacuum limit; vacuum control with uncapped flow; vacuum control with flow limit).

  • Pressure equalizer from the start

While other systems can experience undesired passive aspiration, Equality™ Fluidics Control equalizes pressure in the aspiration tubing with the pre-set IOP in the GUI immediately upon activation of aspiration — avoiding passive aspiration flow due to pressure gradient between the eye and vitrectomy probe. 1,3

Automatic full IOP control

Automatic full IOP control: venting through the infusion cannula during fluid exchanges and VFI, both in air and fluid — avoiding significant IOP fluctuations and eliminating the need to rely on backflush.1,3

Avoids significant IOP fluctuations, which is key for intra-op and post-op safety and eliminates the need to rely on backflush, giving peace of mind, especially in cases of high myopes.

Uninterrupted workflow

EvenFlow™ is designed to reduce reliance on manual OR staff interventions by enabling surgeon-controlled Fluid-Air exchange via foot pedal. 1,3

Ensures uninterrupted workflow in the OR and procedural efficiency.

Full visualization

Full visualization: EvenFlow™ maximizes the endo-illumination source in heavy liquid injections, offering enhanced surgical flexibility through leveraging the endo-illumination probe.1,3

Offers enhanced surgical flexibility through leveraging the endo-illumination probe.

Automatic FAX

In the know. In Control. In every moment

EvenFlow™ Automatic Fluid-Air Exchange offers a paradigm shift in Fluid-Air Exchange Control, uniquely combining the benefits of automatic full IOP control, uninterrupted workflow and full visualization. 1,3

Optimized footprint

The Virtuoso® footprint is optimized by the integrated air compressor and the shroud-free, laser-integrated wireless footswitch, giving full surgeon independence on laser activation; 10 programmable switches allow full customization with easy recognition of side buttons, providing single/dual linear versatility. 1,3

10 programmable switches allow full customization, with easy recognition and clear activation of the side buttons, providing the surgical versatility of Single/Dual linear.1

Streamlined workflow

EasyFit™ All At Once Setup simplifies equipment setup for all procedures and avoids tube tangling, together with the double-pouched tray.1,3

Streamlining OR workflow is key, especially in the case of high staff turnover or unspecialized OR staff.

Intuitive guided setup and intra-op adjustments

Virtuoso® Graphic User Interface provides intuitive guided setup for seamless intra-operative adjustments, helping speed, precision, and OR workflow, especially for high-turnover settings or unspecialized OR staff.1

This streamlined interface helps with speed and precision, simplifying OR workflow and saving time, especially for high-turnover settings or unspecialized OR staff.

Usability and footprint

Our success is making yours easier to achieve

The optimized Virtuoso® footprint via HW integration and the enhanced procedure setup bring preparation and intra-op control of vitreoretinal surgery to the next level.

High Flow directional infusion cannula

inVITe™'s infusion cannula is designed to support smooth, directional fluid flow during Air Fluid exchanges, with a valve design that supports single-handed removal. 13,3
