Provides leadership and direction for the Plant Finance function where applicable in the Bidford manufacturing facility. Reports to the Global Controller of BVI located in Waltham, MA - Corporate Headquarters. Lead and manage all financial activities associated with the Bidford Plant, including the direct management of the plant finance function and the indirect management of all other financial data related to plant activities. Provide strategic and functional guidance to the Bidford plant operations team. Lead Bidford plant planning process including annual budget, quarterly projection, and standard setting. Responsible for the proper financial accounting, reporting, and analysis in support of Plant and overall business requirements. Responsible for maintaining the control of inventory accuracy through the cycle counting program, physical inventory, and proper inventory reserve analysis. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BVI safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Comply with all local BVI quality policies, procedures, and practices.


Lead the Bidford Plant Finance function where applicable for the BVI business.General Accounting functions relating to review of monthly financial results, account analysis, and CIP analysis. Responsible for managing balance sheet reserves in order to minimize financial exposure of all business operations. Manages and reconciles all intercompany payables and receivables. Provide monthly and quarterly plant performance presentations to business management team and corporate representatives. Maintain complete financial control of the plant by providing management with accurate and timely reports concerning operations. Directly manage the plant finance functions including cost system maintenance, standard cost development, and cost estimates for new and revised products. Manage directly and through others, the monthly close for the Bidford plant including the calculation and reporting of manufacturing costs and variances and Inventory transactions and balances. Calculate, analyze, and report any variance standards on a monthly basis. Perform cost analysis and modelling of opportunistic sales proposals, continuous improvement project opportunities and new product introductions. Lead and coordinate the annual preparation of the Plant’s budget and its presentation including budgets by department, unit costs, capacity, productivity analysis, and budget manufacturing variances. Control, analyze, and evaluate the finished goods, work-in-process and raw material inventories of the plant, including cycle count programs and physical inventories. Calculate any excess and obsolete inventory reserve requirements for raw materials, W.I.P. and domestic finished goods inventories. Responsible for tracking and reporting the Continuous Improvement Projects, including meeting with the Project Managers to assess their progress and status, as well as to ensure accurate reflection of trends into re-forecasts. Comply with all local, state, federal, and BVI safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Comply with all local BVI quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.


Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent). Demonstrates a specific and advanced set of skills and knowledge in an area of expertise. Involves restricted number of jobs within job family requiring unique and/or specialized skills (not part of natural or expected progression). Reports to Global Controller for BVI (located in Waltham, MA – Corporate Headquarters). Indirectly manages various staff based on the scope of the projects – and provides overall leadership for Bidford Plant Finance. Cross-functional business partner working with other function leaders. 5 + years of senior finance and accounting management experience including cost accounting in a Manufacturing company. Demonstrated track record of progressive financial work experience including financial modelling, operating expense control, trend analysis, budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial direction. 1-3 years of experience as a Plant Controller or similar role. Strong Command of Fundamentals of Cost Accounting. 2+ years of experience as a Plant Controller in a Medical device/Pharmaceutical company preferred. Manufacturing experience, ERP system knowledge (preferably ORACLE or IFS) required. Familiarity and experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is a plus.
