Dana G. Mead, Jr.

President and Chief Executive Officer

Dana Mead brings to BVI over 30 years of global medical device experience as a general manager, venture investor and sales and marketing executive. Before assuming his current role, Dana was a Strategic Advisor and Partner in the Life Science Practice of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), a leading venture capital firm, where he helped identify and grow early-stage healthcare companies. Prior to KPCB, he held a series of senior-level positions at Guidant Corp., that included; President Vascular Intervention (VI), VP Corporate Relations, President Asia Pacific Operations (Based in Tokyo), General Manager, Stent Business Unit (VI) and General Manager, Origin. Earlier in his career, Dana served in sales and marketing roles in the Ophthalmic Groups of Allergan and Johnson and Johnson. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Inspire Medical (NYSE:INSP), Intersect ENT (NASDAQ:XENT) and Pulmonx.  Mr. Mead has served on the BOD’s of over 20 organizations including: Teladoc (NYSE:TDOC), Spinal Modulation (Acquired by St. Jude), Corventis (Acquired by Medtronic), The California Healthcare Institute (CHI) and Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH) at Stanford. Dana has a Bachelor’s Degree from Lafayette College and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Southern California.

Shervin Korangy

Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer

Shervin Korangy brings to BVI over 20 years of general management, operational, financial, and investment experience across a diverse array of industries including healthcare, consumer products, telecom, manufacturing and financial services. His experiences also span across numerous geographies including the US, Switzerland, France, Ireland and the UK. Prior to BVI, Shervin was a senior executive with Novartis Group AG, one of the largest global diversified healthcare companies, holding roles to include Global Head of Corporate Finance, Managing Director and Country Head Alcon UK & Ireland, and Country Head of France.  Before Novartis, Shervin spent 15 years with The Blackstone Group, one of the world’s leading alternative investment firms, most recently as a Managing Director with experience in both the Restructuring and Private Equity businesses.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Hain Celestial (Nasdaq: HAIN) and Motus GI (Nasdaq: MOTS). Shervin is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jo Anne M. Fasetti

Chief Human Resources Officer

Jo Anne Fasetti has over 25 years of experience in human resource management with Fortune 100 healthcare companies and mid-size private healthcare companies. Ms. Fasetti started her career in Human Resources with Baxter Healthcare and continued on in progressive HR leadership roles. She played a key role in creating a world class HR function at Allegiance Healthcare after its spin-off from Baxter Healthcare. During her tenure there, she led the organization through significant change after its acquisition by Cardinal Healthcare where she was Sr. Vice President for the Medical Products segment prior to joining Fenwal, Inc. in 2007. At Fenwal, a leader in blood based medical technology, Ms. Fasetti held worldwide responsibility for enhancing HR infrastructure and driving the organizations culture. Ms. Fasetti is a lean six sigma sponsor, member of the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago and the Society for Human Resources Management. She holds certificates in marketing and management from the College of Lake County (Illinois).

Darin Dixon

Vice President, US Sales

Darin Dixon brings over 22 years of sales and sales leadership in both global and domestic capacities with the majority of his career in the Ophthalmology sector. Prior to BVI, Darin led AcuFocus as the Vice President of Global Sales through FDA approval and effectively commercialized the KAMRA™ Corneal Inlay as a disruptive, first of its kind technology within the corneal and refractive markets. Prior to AcuFocus, he served as Vice President of US Sales at MicroSurgical Technologies (MST) managing all direct, and distributor sales teams. Most of his career in ophthalmology, he served as a Senior Director at Abbott Medical Optics (AMO) with increasing responsibilities over its US cataract, refractive, and premium surgical business units. Prior to medical devices, he held several senior director level positions with a successful track record within the Executive Search industry. Darin earned a B.A. from University of Utah with a major in Organizational Communications and minor in Japanese.

Denis Hinaut

Vice President, International

Denis Hinaut brings more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, dealer management, and sales management in the medical field. Prior to Beaver-Visitec, Mr. Hinaut served as Director of International Sales and Marketing for BD Medical-Ophthalmic Systems. In 2000, he was given the task to develop and build the BD ophthalmic business in Europe. He successfully grew the European region to be the largest worldwide for BD in sales and revenue. Mr. Hinaut has a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics from ESC Lille, France.

Lars T. Bonefeld

Vice President, Global Marketing

Lars has 20 years of international life sciences operating experience including at Novartis where he held roles of increasing responsibility most recently as the Business Unit Head of Pharmaceuticals for Alcon UK/Ireland and Vice President of US Marketing for Novartis Vaccines.  Lars has significant product launch and commercialization experience at Global and country level and has worked across marketing, sales, market access, and supply chain.  In addition, he has worked as a management consultant, including as Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company, advising senior Life Sciences executives and private equity clients on operational effectiveness and business strategy.  Lars has a Master of Science degree in Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, Copenhagen.

Peter Hemingway

Vice President of Strategy and Business Development

Peter Hemingway has extensive leadership experience, with over 23 years in the ophthalmic medical devices industry. Prior to his current position, he served from 2002 on the leadership team of BD Medical–Ophthalmic Systems, holding various positions in Finance and Business Development, including Worldwide Business Controller. His prior industry experience includes senior level positions at Mentor, ESC Medical Systems, and MultiSite Laser Systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Investments and an MBA in Finance and Accounting, both from Babson College.

Devang V. Shah, Ph.D.

Vice President of Research and Development

Devang Shah brings to BVI more than twelve years of experience building and leading teams in medical device R&D, Strategy and Business Development. Throughout his tenure at Bard, Devang has held roles of increasing responsibility focused on creating and executing against product development pipelines that addressed significant unmet clinical needs and delivering organic revenue growth. While co-leading Bard's Tissue Regeneration Franchise, Devang and his team supported the development and commercial launch of innovative new product lines which have generated organic revenues of >$100 million. His career began at Boston Scientific as a Consultant in the Urology & Women's Health Division.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute followed by a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University. He subsequently earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Northeastern University and is currently enrolled in the MIT Sloan School of Management's Executive MBA program.

Regina Shih

Vice President, Global Quality and Regulatory Affairs

Regina (Gina) brings more than 25 years of progressive experience in regulatory affairs and quality across all classes of medical devices as well as pharmaceuticals, biologics and combination products.  Throughout her career in Regulatory Affairs and Quality, Gina Shih has held roles of increasing responsibility focused on domestic and international regulatory strategies, organizational development and cross functional integration involving international sectors.  Her career history includes leadership roles in J&J, Ximedica, Apatech (Baxter), Exactech and most recently she joined C.R. Bard in 2012, prior to the company merging with Becton Dickinson where she held the position of Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality for the North Asia region. Gina earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Florida followed by a Master of Science degree in Food Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.  She is currently expecting to complete her MBA program at UMass Dartmouth.
